Out of all the privileges gifted to us by Almighty, one of the beautiful gifts to mankind is Hope. What is hope? The feeling of being heard, listened to and responded to when u raise your hand in the darkest times of your life, or is it that faith that you are guided to the alignment which is the best for your own soul. Islam started evolving bringing the believers out of the darkness and that age of darkness, However, the disbelief is never found to be on the ground it is always found in heart. The Holy Quran clearly stated in numerous places how faith, hope and belief are friends of beloved believers. The word “hope” Is mentioned 40 times in the Holy Quran.
In today’s advanced technological era, access to every information, facility and opportunity has become easier. Similarly, the importance of little things is seen to be reducing day by day due to the access to a variety of options. The time has become faster losing it significance with the increasing urbanization, development and evolution. Now I want you to quickly think of how you spent most of your time before this tech era. Exactly. The basic expected answer is more physical involvement, less time on phone, etc. However, the most important factor missing from our lives is the peaceful state of mind, The tranquility of heart and the contentedness in the work we do.
Over the last few years, the most reported cases are of teenage depression and anxiety. No wonders why every other teenager and adult is under the influence of these developing mental disorders.
Now imagine a seed engraved in the depth of the earth, its surroundings are cold and seem to be lifeless. Anxiety and depression are one of the most common developing disorders around the world which affects people from all the backgrounds and religions. For this reason, as far as seeking professional help is necessary, In the religion of Islam such teachings and guidance are provided which involves practices that ultimately help in coping with mental problems.
If we go back in the ancient history of Islam and Sufi saints, there are clear prominent approaches related to the betterment of mind. Multiple scientists such as Al-Razi and Ibn-e-Sina introduced the connection between body and mind, Daily prayer (salah) and recitation of the Quran were viewed as great means for soothing the mind, consolation, and cleansing one’s linkage with Allah. Sufi saints also stated to practice these methods for mental cleansing and tranquility.

Tawakkul (Reliance on Allah):

Dhikr (remembrance of Allah):
Islam teaches its believer to be patient and to involve into the dhikr i.e. the remembrance of Allah in the time of hardships.
